About Us

DAKSCom CIC was started in the spring of 2023 by Darren Swift (Swifty), a double above knee (DAK) amputee, and Dale Rennard, an able bodied graphic/product designer, to provide a transparent, formal, asset locked framework through which to continue to support the DAKS Community.

The DAKs community consists of people with double above knee limb deficiencies, their families, friends and anyone involved in the creation, facilitation and participation in recreational and competitive snowboarding opportunities.  Such opportunities ultimately support choice to pursue active and healthy lifestyles.

  • The promotion and provision of snowboarding opportunities for DAK amputee snowboarders
  • The development and understanding of the snowboarding coaching processes and techniques to improve performance specific to DAK amputees
  • The development of equipment and resources supporting the performance and enjoyment of snowboarding by DAK amputee snowboarders

Mission
